As well as, 1 in 5 students seriously considered attempting suicide and 1 in 10 attempted suicide. We believe that equipping our youth and their families with the tools to promote mental wellness is an investment in the resilience of our community,” said LeeAnna Smith, Executive Director, United Way of Grant County.Īccording to the CDC, in 2021, 42% of students reported feeling persistently sad or hopeless and nearly one-third experienced poor mental health. Our partnership with Radiant Health for the Mental Health Matters event reflects our commitment to fostering an environment where mental health is understood, discussed, and prioritized. “United Way of Grant County recognizes that mental health is foundational to overall health and well-being. The event is a partnership with the United Way of Grant County. Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans’ lives, to celebrate those living in recovery and the importance of how essential mental wellness is for a person’s overall health.

The event is Free and focused on the importance of offering youth activities designed to help them self-regulate and support mental wellness. Marion, IN – Radiant Health will host Mental Health Matters, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month, on May 17 th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Gardens of Matter Park.
